When an invoice is issued in Xero, Pinch can detect the invoice and send an email to your client automatically within a couple of minutes. The email will provide information about the invoice and a choice of actions; pay now or manage account.
Below you can see an example of the email sent. Note that the email will also contain your logo in the top left hand side.
Your client has the following options:
Pay INV-1234 - This takes your client to the Pinch payment page where they can make a secure online payment using their credit card or bank details. The page will also show any other open invoices that can be paid at this time.
Activate Customer Portal - The Customer Portal is a new, secure portal we have developed that allows your client to store their payment methods, download and view current and historical invoices, schedule payments for the due date and submit payments for multiple invoices in a single transaction.
Configuration and rules
You filter the notifications by selecting which invoice templates should trigger them. This allows you to filter easily by raising invoices in Xero as normal. To configure the invoice issued email you can go to the "Xero Config" menu item, or click the link from the dashboard. From the "Xero Config" page, you can see the option "Enable invoice issued notifications?" as shown below.
Once you have selected the invoices you wish to turn this on for, click the next button and then the finish button to save. You have now successfully configured the notifications.
Viewing the status of an invoice issued notification
You can check on the status of the notification by clicking to view the details of an invoice from either the "Payments" left hand menu or the payments tab on the customer page. As an example, the invoice below was confirmed to have been sent on 24th January 2022:
